The Animal Protective Foundation in Glenville is spreading holiday cheer by offering discounted adoption fees to help animals find homes. Through New Year's, the shelter is reducing fees to $100 for adult dogs and $50 for adult cats. Normally open Tuesday through Saturday, the shelter's hours may vary this week due to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The foundation, located at 53 Maple Ave., has been a cornerstone of animal welfare since 1931, providing shelter, medical care, and adoption services to approximately 5,000 animals each year. With a mission to ensure every pet finds a loving home, the shelter encourages potential adopters to visit their website, animalprotective.org, to view available pets.

Among the many animals waiting for a home is Cowboy, a gentle dog known for his loving nature. The foundation emphasizes the impact of adoption, noting that each pet adopted not only gains a family but also brings joy and companionship to their new home.

For those interested in adopting, the shelter is open from 12:00 to 4:30 PM, and appointments can be made by calling (518) 374-3944. The Animal Protective Foundation also offers spay and neuter services by appointment.
