A North Carolina family was reunited with their cat, Gabby, 443 days after she went missing during Hurricane Helene.
She was found as a stray and brought to the Avery Humane Society, where a microchip scan revealed her identity. Shelter staff contacted her family, leading to an emotional reunion more than a year after the storm devastated the region.
Many are calling it a Christmas miracle, and the shelter used the moment to remind pet owners to microchip their animals and keep their information current.
