That survey last week that listed San Diego as one of the top places people visit, is absolutely not surprising.
We’ve pretty much always been a popular tourist destination.
And during the holidays, while friends and family come to visit us, it’s also a time when many people who live here San Diego enjoy a holiday staycation.
And why not? Google holiday events and places to go in San Diego and it’s a very long list…dozens and dozens, from the Hotel Del along the beach to the boat parades on the Bays…to the decorated mountain town of Julian, that even sometimes has some snow on the ground.
And while traditional White Christmases happen in many other places, it is looking like we are going to have a wet Christmas.
With a lot of the holiday events in San Diego being outdoor events, they certainly could be affected by rain.
But then it does give us former Easterners and Midwesterners, who remember the white Christmases in our past, the chance to gather inside, with hot cocoa and maybe even light up the fire place for the first time in a long time, and enjoy the wet Christmas in San Diego this year and we don’t have to worry about shoveling afterwards.
