The Ulster County SPCA has launched its "All I Want For Christmas Is...You!" holiday adoption campaign, aiming to find homes for animals in need. The non-profit organization operates a no-kill shelter located at 20 Wiedy Lane in Ulster, New York, and is encouraging locals to consider adopting a pet this holiday season.
According to Daily Freeman, the SPCA's Executive Director, Gina Carbonari, emphasized the joy and connection that pets bring, stating, "Our animals have so much love to give and are ready to be a cherished part of someone’s family." However, potential adopters are reminded that adopting a pet is a "year-round, lifelong commitment" and should not be treated as a surprise gift.
The Ulster County SPCA relies entirely on donations from the community, as it does not receive funding from the ASPCA or government agencies. The organization urges those interested in adopting to visit their website, ucspca.org, to view available pets and submit an application. Adoptions are by appointment only, and the shelter is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The campaign highlights the importance of involving the entire family in the adoption process to ensure a successful match and transition for the pets. For more information, potential adopters can call (845) 331-5377.
