Man Taken Into Custody After Syracuse Standoff

A standoff in Syracuse ended with the arrest of Jishelle Robinson, 30, on Wednesday (December 17). Syracuse police responded to a domestic incident report at 123 Richardson Avenue around 12:34 p.m. The report suggested a possible weapon was involved, prompting the deployment of a SWAT team and negotiators.

Robinson barricaded himself inside the home, leading to a nearly three-hour standoff. The police took him into custody without incident at approximately 3:58 p.m. According to Syracuse.com, Robinson faces charges of second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The standoff resulted in the closure of Richardson Avenue, and the public was advised to avoid the area. The road was reopened after Robinson's arrest, though an armored vehicle remained on the scene as of 4:43 p.m. CNY Central reported that the police are still investigating the involvement of a weapon in the incident.
