Ricky Pera, is 16 years old and recently started working at Ace Hardware in Redwood City CA. Ricky was stunned when an SUV crashed through the front wall of the store. Flames ignited near where the vehicle came to a stop and smoke quickly filled the store.
According to ABC News 7 says Ricky helped get the woman out of her vehicle. "She's told me that she stepped on the gas instead of the brake, which caused her to go flying into the store". But Ricky had to act quick because the fire that started was on the aisle where they sell butane tanks! As Ricky was helping the lady out of the store he was yelling "fire everyone get out".
As the people ran for the doors Ricky ran back in and grabbed a fire extinguisher and battled the flames to protect the tanks. Thankfully it was only a few minutes later that the Fire Dept arrived and was able to put the fire out.
