MUSKEGON, Mich. -- Authorities are offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of Jamerius Brown, a suspect in a 2021 murder near Muskegon. The 24-year-old, also known as JB, has been at large since November 2024. He is wanted in connection with the gang-related shooting death of 22-year-old Khalid Burt on July 28, 2021.

Burt was found dead in his vehicle after a crash on northbound US-31 in the Muskegon River Flats area. Witnesses reported seeing a silver or gray Jeep alongside Burt's car and hearing gunshots. The Muskegon Township Police Department ruled out the possibility of a random act or road rage, identifying the incident as gang-related.

Two co-defendants, Lenar Branch and Threshon Wyrick, are already in custody. Branch has pled no contest to open murder charges and will be sentenced in January, while Wyrick is awaiting a jury trial in February. Both face charges related to open murder, gang membership felonies, and weapons offenses. Brown faces similar charges, excluding the weapons charge.

The US Marshals have classified Brown as armed and dangerous and are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be submitted confidentially to the US Marshals by calling 616-456-2438 or the USMS tip line at 1-800-336-0102. Additionally, Silent Observer is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to Brown's arrest. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 72.CRIME (231.722.7463).
