Jennifer Lopez is living her truth and blocking out the opinions on her life.

The "On the Floor" singer was one of several stars in conversation for The Envelope 2025 Oscar Actresses Roundtable for the Los Angeles Times published Tuesday (December 16), joining Gwyneth Paltrow, Emily Blunt, Tessa Thompson, Elle Fanning and Sydney Sweeney for a discussion that included the actresses sharing how they push aside "negative stuff" about their personal life and "focus on your work," per People.

Lopez, whose personal life has been the subject of public interest since the start of her career, explained how manages the attention — both positive and negative.

"From the very beginning, for whatever reason, I've been a lightning rod for nice things and a lot of negativity," she said. "And it's hard because you say to yourself, 'These people don't get me. They don't see me. They don't understand me.' Then all of a sudden they do. And then they don't again."

She continued, "Even from when I was very young. I would always say, 'I know who I am. I'm a good person. I know what I'm doing. People wouldn't hire me if I wasn't good at what I do.' I was always affirming myself and keeping my feet on the ground."

The Kiss of the Spider Woman actress added that her parents' assistance in cultivating a strong "sense of self" as she grew up help her "block out the noise" and focus on what matters most, doing her best both professionally and personally and being "a good mom" to her 17-year-old twins Max and Emme.
