Former Louisiana Surgeon General Dr. Ralph Abraham is the new Principal Deputy Director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. conducted Abraham's swearing-in ceremony on Monday in Washington, DC.
In his capacity as Principal Deputy Director, Abraham will help reform the agency that serves as the nation's front-line defender against infectious diseases.
The former GOP congressman will start his new job on January 5th in Atlanta.
