City Of Canton Rejecting Firefighter Grant

The City of Canton is rejecting a federal grant.

FEMA recently offered the city a $2.9 million grant to hire 15 new firefighters.

However, the city would be responsible for one-third of the firefighters' salaries and ongoing costs once the grant ran out.

For these reasons, the city is declining the funding.
