One Dead in Otsego County Trailer Fire

A tragic fire in the Town of Laurens, Otsego County, claimed the life of one man on Saturday (December 13). According to the Otsego County Office of Emergency Services, the fire occurred at a trailer located at 438 County Highway 11, Lot 30. The Otsego County 911 Center received the call about the fire at approximately 2:09 p.m.

Firefighters from the Laurens District, along with crews from Mount Vision, West Laurens, and West Oneonta, responded to the scene. Upon entering the trailer, they discovered the body of a deceased male. The identity of the victim has not been released, as authorities are waiting to notify the next of kin.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, New York State Police, and the Otsego County Office of Emergency Services. In a statement, the Otsego County Office of Emergency Services expressed condolences to the victim’s family and those affected by the incident. Additional information may be released as the investigation continues.
