A city committee in Hudson has recommended selling the historic Dunn Warehouse to Hudson Brewing Company for $500,000. The recommendation comes as part of a plan to revitalize the mid-nineteenth-century warehouse, which is the last industrial building on Hudson's waterfront. The brewery's proposal scored highest based on community impact and financing.
The brewery, along with another development team, will present their proposals at the Common Council meeting on Tuesday (December 16). A final vote on the sale is expected in January. According to Gossips of Rivertown, some residents have expressed concerns about potential parking issues and the impact of commercial development on the riverfront park. However, others support the idea, appreciating the vision and ambition to restore the building.
The decision to sell the Dunn Warehouse is part of Hudson's broader efforts to enhance its waterfront area. While some community members suggest alternative uses, such as a museum, city officials are focused on ensuring the warehouse serves a profitable purpose. The outcome of the Common Council's vote will determine the future of this historic site.
