Baytown Police Officer Michael Hightower has been indicted by a Harris County grand jury, for the deadly October crash that killed two children of a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy.
According to our tv partner, KPRC channel 2, court records revealed that Hightower is facing three felony charges, including two counts of manslaughter and one aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.
On the night of October 23rd, Hightower allegedly operated his SUV at a high rate of speed, and failed to activate emergency lights, and failed to activate emergency sirens or operate a vehicle with the appropriate regard to a person’s safety or property.
Hightower was indicted on Friday and posted a $150,000 total bond earlier today.
The crash happened at the intersection of West Baker Road and Country Club Drive at around 7:10 pm, according to KPRC.
