State Assemblymember Sarahana Shrestha will host mobile office hours and an energy savings workshop on Monday (December 15) at the Saugerties Public Library. The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., aims to help residents reduce energy costs through efficiency tips and do-it-yourself weatherization. An Ulster County energy advisor, Mike Murphy from the Cornell Cooperative Extension, will lead the "Save Energy, Save Dollars" discussion, focusing on energy efficiency and building science in homes. Attendees will receive energy savings kits containing materials for weatherization and energy efficiency.
Shrestha's constituent services team will also be present to address concerns about rising energy bills. The event is part of her ongoing efforts to support residents in the 103rd Assembly District, which includes parts of Ulster County and areas in Dutchess County like Red Hook and Rhinebeck. According to a report from the Daily Freeman, registration is required to attend the workshop.
