During a Christmas celebration in Merseyside, England, Buddy the reindeer slipped away from the festivities, prompting a wide search involving police, rescue teams, and a drone. Worried he might enter the nearby open water, crews tracked Buddy through the night. He was eventually located miles away on the dunes of Formby Beach, where officers stayed with him until a veterinarian safely sedated him for transport. Buddy was returned home later that night without further incident.
