A British hotel is hoping that the holidays aren’t “poppin’” this year. Moor Hall Hotel and Spa in Birmingham, England has put up a 25-foot-tall Christmas tree made entirely of 100,000 balloons. The blow-up tree isn’t left exposed; it’s covered by a clear dome to keep the balloons from popping or blowing away. Balloon artist Naomi Spencer came up with the idea as a way to raise money for charity.
A team of 20 people spent five days building the tree, which Spencer says has never been done before in the U.K. Visitors can sponsor a single balloon for about $3.30, or pay $13.19 for a memorial balloon honoring a loved one. The tree is open to the public through January 6th.
