Conch Shells Could Help Sleep Apnea

Some relief from obstructive sleep apnea symptoms may be found by blowing into a conch shell. That's according to a study published in ERJ Open Research. It found people blowing through a conch shell daily for several months showed reduced symptoms. Sleep tests measured fewer apnea episodes per hour and improved blood oxygen levels. Researchers say the exercise likely strengthens and tones upper airway muscles which prevents the airway from collapsing during sleep, which is the primary cause of the disorder. See the video of how to properly blow into a conch shell here.
