Robert Plant Drops A Blues Deep Cut From "Saving Grace"

Robert Plant went deep into his blues bag with the new single “Chevrolet”.

An interpretation of Donovan's "Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness)," which in turn is an adaptation of "Can I Do It for You," from Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy who also recorded the original version of "When the Levee Breaks".

Robert Plant put out "Gospel Plough" earlier last month in the lead-up to "Saving grace" that drops September, 26.

“Saving Grace”! is named after Plant’s new band that features vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley and cellist Barney Morse-Brown. To push the new album Plant dropped the lead single, “Everybody’s Song,” which is a cover of Minnesota indie band Low.

“We laugh a lot, really. I think that suits me. I like laughing,” Plant says. “You know, I can’t find any reason to be too serious about anything. I’m not jaded. The sweetness of the whole thing …These are sweet people, and they are playing out all the stuff that they could never get out before. They have become unique stylists and together they seem to have landed in a most interesting place.”

The album includes covers of Memphis Minnie, Bob Mosley of Moby GrapeBlind Willie Johnson, The Low Anthem, Martha Scanlan, Sarah Siskind and Low. The band will go on tour in Europe and the U.S. this fall.
