KALAMAZOO (WOOD-AM) - The Kalamazoo Events Center is slated to open in 2027.
That's the new downtown Kalamazoo arena for the Western Michigan University basketball and hockey and the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team.
The $300 million facility is being privately funded.
Greenleaf Hospitality Group launched a website for the facility, which will be located on Kalamazoo Avenue between Park and Westnedge.
"This new site is the gateway to the future of sports, live entertainment, and community connection in Kalamazoo," Kalamazoo Wings General Manager Toni Will said.
