The longest runway at Lahm Airport in Mansfield is set for an $8 million rehabilitation project in 2026.

According to RichlandSource.com, 95% of the project will be paid for through the federal government.

The Mansfield Board of Control has approved a $6.5 million contract with Kokosing Construction, who was the lowest out of 3 bids.

Mansfield Engineer, Bob Bianchi, said, the estimated cost was around $9.5 million, and the work on runway 14-32 will start in the spring of next year. It will take about 5 months to complete the project. 2005 was the last time the runway had some rehab work done.

Mansfield's share of the project will cost $400,000. A Virginia based company, Delta Consultants, will be handling the inspection and quality insurance. They have an office in the Cleveland area too.
