A swim advisory at Gun Lake County Park Beach has been lifted ahead of the Fourth of July weekend.
Earlier this week, the Allegan County Health Department detected high levels of E.coli in the water during routine testing.
That prompted officials to issue a swim advisory warning the community to avoid swimming or full body contact with the water.
E.coli exposure can lead to illness like swimmer's itch, skin or eye irritation and stomach pain.
