State Senator Royce Duplessis is in the running to become mayor of New Orleans.
Duplessis made the announcement via Facebook on Sunday.
His campaign will formally launch at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Ashé Powerhouse Theater.
Also in the race are City Council Vice President Helena Moreno, Councilman Oliver Thomas, former judge Arthur Hunter, and former 911 director Tyrell Morris.
