What would you say is the ideal age difference in a relationship? If you said close to the same age, you’d be right – at least according to a new study. The study, which tracked thousands of couples over several years, found that the happiest couples had an age difference of 0-3 years. The reason? Being the same age means they share similar interests, goals, and life stages, which helps them navigate challenges more effectively.
The research found that as the age difference between partners increased, their relationships satisfaction tended to decrease. That said, it doesn’t mean that relationships with a big age gap are doomed to fail. The research showed that success depends more on compatibility, shared values, and mutual respect than age alone.
