The Louisiana State Racing Commission is setting dates for the 2025 to 2026 horse racing season.
The agency held an emergency meeting in New Orleans on Tuesday, approving Nvember 20 through March 22 as the official horse racing dates.
The meeting was held just after Churchill Downs agreed to keep horse racing at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans, which has been in operation since 1837.
