Your gas prices won't go up

Jay Weber Show transcript 6-24-25

Boy- it is- really-disturbing to the democrats and the Trump haters that -in general-things lined up so well for president trump on this Iran thing.

Ever since the strategic air strikes on Saturday night, the Trump hating left and most elected democrats have been making themselves look silly by complaining about-and criticizing- a ‘total success’ of a military raid. One that will honestly go down in history books as one of the great secret military missions of the modern era.

It was one thing to pull off secret missions in earlier wars-when it was easier to keep secrecy and deceive enemies...but in this modern era of technology, satellites, social media, etc.- this was an incredible feat of secrecy and planning- and it worked perfectly.

And don’t think this didn’t speak all of our enemies around the globe and even some of our allies.

Imagine: in today’s age, America flew bombers halfway around the world-bombed sites with highly accurate and strategic strikes- using ordinance that no other country has- without ever being seen on radar, or satellite, or heat-sensor- and without ever being shot at...or targeted...or discovered. The entire time.

Now that’s! Amazing.

But the left seems to be furious about nearly everything related to the successful nature of this strike-including the fact that the price of oil isn’t spiking.

Really?

The next thing to get angry about is that trump’s actions aren’t even going to cause gas prices to spike. He’s not even going to be harmed, politically by that.

My god-this is infuriating for the average lefty.

But-as I explained briefly yesterday: we in America-and we in the west- don’t get oil from Iran, anyway. The heavy western sanctions that have been put in place mean western allied nations cannot buy it without being punished-and even those other nations that might want to buy it- could have sanctions placed against them if they do.

And so-aside from China- virtually no one on the planet is using Iranian oil. China imports 90 percent of Iran’s oil.

Moreover- it’s so divorced from the larger global oil market-that having Iran’s oil fields- or oil economy- in jeopardy.... means nothing to the rest of us.

Honestly.

Oil prices went up a bit on Sunday-in reaction to the news- and yes- they are a little higher as we start the real summer driving season and prices were expected to go up, anyway...but in general?...experts are saying that- so long as Iran doesn’t escalate this into a longer conflict- the net effect of Iran’s troubles on gas prices could be somewhere between ‘zero’ and ‘five or six cents a gallon’. That’s it.

The global price per barrel has hung around 70 or 72 dollars. It leapt to 78 per barrel temporarily on Sunday. Yesterday the price dropped to 68 dollars a barrel.

The ‘realities’ have changed. Iran’s oil- isn’t used by us...or virtually anyone else on the globe.... aside from China.

Following the attacks- Iran’s mullahs voted to shut down that passageway in retaliation-

However- if they did so-it would give Israel and the US pretext to destroy the Iranian navy... As well as giving the rest of the world more reason to support ‘us. Our side. In this fight.

China and president XI have more say in this one-given that it’s their oil supply that would be disrupted.

And gee-yesterday- the Chinese government warned Iran not to close the straight.

It’s reassuring to hear that-whatever happens over there – ‘oil prices’ won’t need to be taken into account- or be factored in, politically. You might have seen that- just to be certain- President Trump put out a warning on social media to the oil and gas companies: and don’t think you can use this situation to raise gas prices, either. We’ll be watching you.

In fact, you should start pumping and fracking more, trump suggested.

Investor interest in domestic fracking companies has peaked since Saturday.

It’s a real gift- of this era-that we have domestic crackers who can blunt the panic of investors on wall street when a war occurs like this-and- and- have the ability to ramp up domestic production in a time of crisis. In a matter of weeks and months.

Both are a big win for the broader economy.

And hopefully we won’t really have to worry about it either way.

As I said earlier: it’s a good sign that the Ayatollah and whoever’s left of his inner circle are more interested in finding ‘face saving’ off-ramps than ramping up this direct conflict in any way.

Their pathetically staged ‘strikes’ against US targets yesterday is a strong hint that they aren’t going to escalate any direct conflict with the US, further. At least not immediately- or openly.

Which increases the risk of terror attacks-at the mullahs urging- they’re now the only tool that these clowns might think they have-

But-if they want to remain in power- they won’t challenge either the US, or Israel militarily- any further.
