WALKER (WOOD-AM) - A six-year-old drowned at Millennium Park in Walker on Saturday.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office says a human chain pulled the child from the water, but the child was pronounced dead at the park.

It was one of two drownings over the weekend in the region.

Calhoun County Sheriff's deputies say a man died in a drowning at Willard Park Beach.

Deputies with the marine unit were able to quickly find the man and rushed him to shore for CPR, but he died at the scene.
