Bruce Springsteen is far from slowing down — in fact, The Boss is revving up. While fans are still digging into the treasures of Tracks 2 and eagerly awaiting Tracks 3, Springsteen has even more in store. In a recent chat with Rolling Stone, Springsteen revealed that he’s wrapped up Only the Strong Survive, Volume 2, the follow-up to his soul-infused covers album. He’s also hinted at another covers project in the works, this time branching out beyond soul. “There’s other covers things I’ve done that were not necessarily soul-related,” he said. “So it’s another project.”
Springsteen has also completed a brand-new solo album, which he expects to release in 2026. He’s also planning to hit the road but this time, without the E Street Band. “I will be doing that again at some point,” he said of a solo tour. “I’m not sure what the music will be, but I’ll have a lot to draw on because I’m making a lot of records.” Sounds like Springsteen’s creative engine is running full throttle.
The Boss also circled back on something he initially denied. During the interview, he claimed there was no “electric” version of Nebraska — the famously stripped-down 1982 album. But later, he called the reporter to say that tapes had surfaced of him and the E Street Band recording some of those songs in the studio. That long-rumored material is now expected to appear on Tracks 3, giving fans a rare glimpse into what Nebraska might have sounded like with a full band behind it.
