Man Accused Of Shoplifting, Assault

Authorities in North Adams are searching for a man who allegedly tried to steal from a Walmart and assaulted an employee.

Police said the suspect was approached by the employee after he was seen trying to exit the store with a shopping cart containing over 400-dollars of merchandise.

The suspect reportedly assaulted the employee then fled the scene.
