Albany Police Investigate Homicide on Third Avenue

Albany Police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning (June 15) on Third Avenue. Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Albany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident took place in the early hours, around 4:30 a.m., and police have not yet released any information about potential suspects or motives. Detectives are actively working on the case and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

This investigation is part of a broader effort by the Albany Police Department to address gun violence in the city. Police are asking residents with any details related to the shooting to contact the Albany Police Detective Division at (518) 462-8039. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Capital Region Crime Stoppers website.

As the investigation continues, authorities are focused on gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
