A fire in a portion of the Marathon Texas City Refinery has been extinguished, with no reports of injuries after firefighters worked for hours battling the blaze.
It's believed the fire began in one part of the refinery and once they arrived, firefighters were able to keep it from spreading.
The Marathon facility is the largest of its kind in the United States
The fire broke out about 12:30 pm, and Marathon stated about 1:30 pm that firefighters had it under control.
A shelter-in-place order was given around 12:30 pm and was lifted about 2:15 pm,
