Newsom's tough guy act is hilarious

Is there anything funnier than a wimpy man trying to be a tough guy?

I thought having Tim Walz and Tony Evers swear and act like tough guys was fun- but California governor Gavin Newsom, yesterday, daring for Tom Homan to come and arrest him-was priceless.

We get this sort of silly grandstanding a lot by democrats and ‘self-important’ people:this is in the same class of rhetoric as Rosie O’Donnell or Kathy Griffin or Joy Behar pretending as if ‘Trump is coming for them’.

Good grief.Donald trump doesn’t spend-any-part of his day-thinking about any of those dopes. But we’ve seen all sorts of democrats and their talking heads pretending as if ‘they’ are trump targets. ‘He could be coming for me’.

No, he’s not, because you don’t matter at all. Period.

This simple truth would crush their ego more than anything trump could do to them: just tell them the truth: you don’t matter enough to be on president trump’s radar, kitten...

But we’ve had a lot of democrats and their talking head spouting that idiocy over the last five months. Well, a close relative to it- is people like Tim Walz and Gavin Newsom acting like they are tough guys-challenging trump to ‘come and get them’.

Again- he’s the president of the United States. He deals with all sorts of things. Trump doesn’t even have the time to give you a second thought, Gavin.

But there was Gavin Newsom, talking like a tough guy yesterday as a way to keep his head above water on his failing 2028 presidential bid.

Make no mistake, this entire ‘show down’ between trump and Newsom or Homan and Newsom...is invented by Newsom and his accomplice news media. Neither Homan nor Trump are giving Newsom a second thought.

There was a funny moment yesterday, in which president Trump was walking to marine one, and was asked: should Tom Homan arrest governor Newsom?

And Trump’s answer was a flippant, sure, go ahead. Newsom is terrible. A nice guy, but just a terrible governor.’

Well, of course, that flippant little ‘go ahead’ was enough to have the bulk of the news media hyperventilating and running headlines saying, ‘Trump says Homan should arrest Newsom’.

But it’s just more silliness from a ‘theatre kids press corps.

Moreover- Homan, the border czar, said yesterday that he never threatened to arrest Karen Bass or Gavin Newsom, specifically. He was talking about ‘any official’ who stands in ice’s way.

And so- the question-as posed to Newsom- was based on a falsehood: tom Homan says he’ll arrest you.

Homan said- listen back to the MSNBC interview the reporter is pretending it came from: i never said it, but i will if Newsom’s impeding a federal ice effort, sure.I’ve been saying that from the start.

And he has.

Trump’s comment was a window into what Newsom’s bluster is about. All about getting attention.

Gavin Newsom- gets to decide whether he’s arrested, doesn’t he?

What would get ‘a governor arrested?’- if he intentionally broke federal law and impeded a federal law enforcement action.

Then he could be arrested and charged-as any American would be.

So, just like Judge Hannah Dugan here in Milwaukee- who was only arrested because she broke clear federal laws-

And everyone knows it- including her liberal and activist friends- who changed their tune the minute they learned the details and saw the video: . she did what? 

Nc. She can’t do that, no. So, let’s just pivot to ‘arresting her’ for breaking the law...went too far.

Her lawyers and friends have retreated to that sort of foolishness...because they can’t defend the federal law breaking.

Also- midday yesterday, Gavin Newsom threatened to sue the trump administration for going over Newsom’s head and ordering two-thousand National Guard members into LA.

Newsom and some lefties want to claim that trump overstepped his authority in doing so.

But he didn’t.

And this is another legal question that is actually ‘cut and dried’. This is another lawsuit that I’m comfortable saying: if it’s ever actually filed- trump will easily win the case.

And Newsom probably knows that. 

Liberal constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley quickly chimed in to say: Newsom’s all wet, here.

Turley’s first point is a good one: the very fact that state and local lawmakers are siding with the anarchists and insurrectionists- makes a very good argument in court- that these riots are a rebellion against the federal government....

Which is just about the only requirement that’s detailed in the fourteenth amendment’s insurrection clause’.

The only requirement is: a group of people intentionally defying the law and using force and intimidation to do it?

Well- check that box. This describes the lawlessness in la over the weekend perfectly. Doesn’t it?

Bottom line: trump almost certainly wins any court showdown over it- and-

Meanwhile- Newsom and the left are making him look like a hero- acting against the sort of anarchy and lawlessness that ‘we, the people’s, are quite fed up with.

In short: trump and the GOP win on this showdown-politically- too.

But look-for Gavin Newsom- a notoriously terrible governor who-none-the-less-wants to run for president in 2028-

Every crisis in California, now, is an opportunity for him to try to make himself look good- and boost his national appeal.

That’s why nothing that has come out of his mouth over the last four days has been logical or truthful...but...he hopes....is hitting the ears of the gullible voting public the right way.

It is their sanctuary policies that have made Los Angeles-and California in general- a haven for illegal immigrants and lawless foreign gangs...but...it suits him and the dreadful Karen bass to both ‘turn around’ and blame trump for chaos their policies have created.

Newsom and Bass are both trying to blame the escalation Friday-into Saturday-on Trump’s order to bring in the national guard...

But bass’s own LAPD chief and other law enforcement officials in LA County have admitted- over the course of the last three days- that these riots were ‘out of hand’ before trump ever issued that order.

In fact, the LAPD chief said yesterday- we probably need more guardsmen to be called in to restore order. He wasn’t upset at Trump’s move at all.

Only those who want to see LA burn -so they can blame it on trump- seem upset that the president wants to restore law and order.

It’s idiotic for Newsom and bass to claim that LAPD had this situation under control before Trump butted in.

They didn’t.

It’s equally idiotic to pretend that the locals could have handled the situation without the national guard.

We’ve all seen the video. As Newsom was saying this-the nation was seeing  cars being burned. Businesses being looted, anarchists hurling rocks at police...as they waved Mexican flags and burned American ones.

Out of all of the foolish and nakedly dishonest things Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass have said over the last four days- none is a bigger lie than ‘we had this under control until Trump called in the National Guard’.

If you believe that-you’re foolish.
