The Louisiana Legislative Auditor is investigating the finances and internal procedures of the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.
The auditor's office has assigned a special task force for the investigation.
Auditor Michael Waguespack says Sheriff Susan Hutson is offering full transparency and has given his team everything they've asked for.
Waguespack says the sheriff's department is starting the fiscal year with more than $8 million. He says a cash reserve is important, but so are emergency repairs to the jail.
