A Harris County constable's deputy was killed on Tuesday in an accident while he was riding his bicycle.
The deputy was off duty in the neighborhood of his home in the Cinco Ranch area off 99 the Grand Parkway not far from the Westpark Toll Road, according to Harris County Pct. 2 Capt. Anderson.
The officer was flown by helicopter to Memorial Hermann hospital in the Houston Medical Center following the accident but was later pronounced dead.
The officer who was killed, identified as a sergeant, has not had his identity released.
The investigation is being handled by the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department.
On Monday, a 19-year veteran of the Angleton Police Department was killed in an accident when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle while the officer was escorting a funeral procession.
