The Zombies are rockin' this summer

The legendary British Invasion band The Zombies are hitting the road in a unique way this July with the screening of their new documentary, ‘Hung Up on a Dream.’ Over the course of two weeks, the film will be shown in seven cities across the U.S., each screening followed by a special Q&A session featuring lead singer Colin Blunstone and the film’s director, Robert Schwartzman. Blunstone will also treat fans to an intimate acoustic set, backed by Schwartzman and his band, making each event a blend of storytelling and live music.

Blunstone is excited about the tour, saying, “I’m looking forward to sharing the experience with audiences at these special events. And it will be good fun to join Robert and Rooney on stage for some live music!” The documentary itself is a journey through the band’s six-decade career, featuring rare archival footage, interviews with all four surviving original members, and appearances by famous fans like Paul Weller, Dave Grohl, Hayley Williams, and Finneas.

When asked about the making of the film, Blunstone admitted they had initial doubts. “Because the band started at such an early time—1961—we were a little concerned that there wouldn’t be enough film to make a documentary,” he explained. “But when I first saw the film, it was a real surprise to me to see some of these shots that [Schwartzman] managed to get. It really does work.”
