Adel Bridge Reconstruction Will Take at Least a Year

(Adel, IA) -- A bridge that was severely damaged after it caught fire near Adel last week will take at least a year to repair. According to a Facebook post from DSM Bike Notes, Raccoon River Valley Trail's "lighted bridge" will be closed until at least May 2026. The repairs will cost just shy of $900,000 and were not in the budget. They will also need to gain specific permits for working near a flood plain.
