The NFL Spring Owners’ Meetings are underway and there is a proposal on the table that would effectively ban the “tush push” from the league. There are a few adjustments that need to be made clarifying the language, but it looks like some form of rule change is very likely. Dan speculates that this has been a direct push by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to remove this unaesthetic looking play.
Dan Patrick: “The NFL doesn’t want this play. I don’t think the commissioner wants this play because aesthetically it’s not a great looking play, and it’s very, very predictable. And I stand by what I said. That offensive line with that quarterback; they’re still going to be unstoppable when it comes to quarterback sneaks.”
