A woman was tragically killed in Orange when a shooter opened fire through the back window of her SUV early Monday morning. The incident occurred near the intersection of Highland Street and Del Mar Avenue, according to the Orange Police Department. Authorities responded to the scene shortly after 12:30 a.m., where the woman was pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released, but a female passenger in the vehicle was unharmed.

The shooter, described only as a male, fired multiple rounds into the vehicle before fleeing the scene. The suspect remains at large, and no description has been provided by the police. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and the authorities are actively searching for leads.

According to ABC7, the Orange Police Department has urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. Meanwhile, a separate incident involving a suspect firing at officers occurred in the same area, but it is unclear if the two events are related.

The police continue to investigate both incidents, and the community is advised to remain vigilant. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Orange Police Department at (714) 744-7444.
