Cinco de Mayo in Connecticut!

Cinco de Mayo is often mistaken as Mexican Independence Day, but the holiday actually honors Mexico's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862. It's a day that honors resilience and unity, but over time, especially in the United States, it has evolved into a larger celebration.

Though it's not a federal holiday in either Mexico or the U.S., Cinco de Mayo has become a festive occasion featuring parades, traditional foods, and of course, plenty of tacos and margaritas! (Fox 40)
