Hy-Vee is shutting down two food production facilities in Iowa, impacting more than 460 employees.
The company's Fresh Commissary facility in Ankeny and Short Cuts facility in Chariton will close after the final shifts on June 24. Hy-Vee says they will be shifting that production back to retail stores.
They also say they will try to find other positions for impacted employees.
Mealtime items, sandwiches, salads, bakery items and take-and-bake pizza were produced at the Ankeny facility. In Chariton, fresh-cut fruits and vegetables were processed at that facility.
