ALLEGAN (WOOD-AM) - Allegan will keep its police force.
Officials had been presented with an idea of dissolving the department earlier this month in an effort to find money for infrastructure and other projects.
The city's plan called for the Allegan County Sheriff's Office to provide law enforcement.
City Manager Joel Dye says the community reaction against the move was "loud and clear."
