A man and woman are accused of negligent homicide after a boy in their care was found dead in a Metairie home on Saturday night.
Jefferson Parish deputies found the boy dead at 8:50 p.m. at a home on Mistletoe Street.
Investigators say Havet Vela-Espinoza and Karla Padilla-Pavon left the boy alone at the house for hours even though he needed special care and constant supervision. They then reportedly delayed calling for help.
The Sheriff's Office hasn't given the boy's name, age, or relationship to the suspects.
