Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Awareness Week runs from April 13 through April 19. Statistics from 2018 show that one in five people in America had an STI — nearly 68 million infections in total.
Syphilis is being diagnosed at extremely high levels (not seen since 1950) and the Virginia Department of Health is reporting more cases of chlamydia than cases of the flu.
