(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa Cubs are getting a top prospect from the major leagues.
The Chicago Cubs announced that infielder Matt Shaw is being optioned to the Iowa Cubs as part of multiple roster changes. Shaw was a first-round pick by the Chicago Cubs in the 2023 MLB Draft, but was demoted to the minor leagues just before Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres.
