The Village of Saugerties is preparing its budget for the 2025/2026 fiscal year. The Village Board of Trustees has scheduled a public hearing on the proposed spending plan for Monday (April 7). This meeting provides an opportunity for residents to voice their opinions and comments on the budget before it is finalized. The new fiscal year will begin on June 1.

Last year, the village adopted a budget of more than $3.6 million. This year, the proposed budget is slightly higher, totaling just over $3.9 million. Residents interested in reviewing the proposed budget can access it online through the village's official website.

For additional information, residents can contact Village Hall. The village's fiscal planning is part of a broader effort to manage resources effectively while addressing the needs of the community.

The town of Saugerties has also faced budgetary challenges, as highlighted in a recent Hudson Valley One report, which detailed criticism of the town's $16 million budget for 2025. The town's budget included a property tax levy increase and faced scrutiny from both community members and a councilman.
