The Iowa boys high school state basketball tournament is moving to Ames.
IHSAA says that starting in 2027, the five-day, 32-team tournament will take place at Hilton Coliseum.
The initial five-year agreement will see the tournament held in Ames on the following dates:
- March 8-12, 2027
- March 6-10, 2028
- March 5-9, 2029
- March 4-8, 2030
- March 10-14, 2031
The tournament has been hosted annually in Des Moines since 1963.
