The nonprofit Friends of Cape Cod National Seashore says it is facing challenges due to budget constraints, federal staff cuts and hiring freezes.
The organization says it is deeply concerned about the impact the actions will have on the park since it cannot rely on federal dollars.
The group is asking the public for donations to fund areas of need, saying while it cannot fund the positions that have been cut, it can fund maintenance projects, environmental studies and other programs.
