A steep hill in Kent County will be regraded this summer after five deadly crashes on the stretch since the mid-1960s.
The Kent County Road Commission says a hill on Jericho Avenue between Kroes Street and 10 Mile Road in Plainfield Township will be adjusted to improve sightlines and discourage unsafe driving habits.
The hill currently has a grade of 14.4 percent and crews intend to cut it down to 10.4 percent.
Officials say the road is not inherently unsafe but some drivers take it fast in an attempt to catch air and "hill jump".
