With the free agency period in the NFL underway, lots of teams have wasted no time in attaining players to help better their organizations rolling into the 2025 season. With shocking trades breaking the news all last week and over the course of the weekend, the Texans have been pretty active in this years free agency. Promptly announcing this morning, the Houston Texans have now reached a 3-year contract extension with Derek Stingley Jr. for $90M, including $89M of it guaranteed at $30M per year for the All-Pro cornerback. Following Stingley's new contract extension and now set with a base salary of $30M, this now makes him the highest paid cornerback in the league as well as the first to now reset the cornerback market for cornerbacks going forward.
