City Of Providence Read For March Madness

Providence is ready for March Madness at the Amica Mutual Pavilion.

In preparation for this week's NCAA events, the city has compiled a list of essential information regarding road closures, parking options, detours and other logistics for residents, businesses and basketball fans.

Mayor Brett Smiley says March Madness is an incredible time for Providence and the city is committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Meantime, it will be a homecoming of sorts for former Providence coach Rick Pitino. Pitino brings in st John's, the number two seed for a Thursday game against number 15 seed Omaha.

St John's did not make the big show last year. Pitino telling SNY's Niki Lattarulo, "we didn't get bitter-we got better."

A complete list of road closures and parking options can be found at providenceri.gov.
