Drivers in the Capital Region are enjoying lower fuel costs as gas prices continue to decline. According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the area is currently $3.12, marking a two-cent decrease over the past week and a seven-cent drop from a month ago. The state average stands at $3.11 per gallon, while the national average is slightly lower at $3.07.
The decrease in gas prices is partly due to softer oil prices, which have contributed to the overall reduction in fuel costs.
Despite the current decrease, fluctuations in gas prices may still occur due to market dynamics and retailer responses to economic news. According to AAA, the national average dropped three cents over the past week, even as demand increased with many travelers gearing up for spring break.
